The purpose of this Code of Conduct is to ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all participants involved with Calgary Basketball Academy (CBA). CBA is committed to providing a sport environment in which all individuals are treated with dignity, fairness, and respect.
This Code establishes a zero-tolerance approach to conduct that is inconsistent with the values of CBA, basketball, and sport. Conduct that violates this Code may result in disciplinary action.
This Code of Conduct applies to all participants involved with CBA, including but not limited to athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, volunteers, staff, and spectators, and applies to conduct that occurs during CBA business, activities, and events, including:

Calgary Basketball Academy is committed to the principles of Safe Sport, as supported by Basketball Alberta and Canada Basketball.
Maltreatment of any kind is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to:
Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcome sexual comments, jokes, gestures, advances, requests for sexual favors, or conduct of a sexual nature.
Any behaviour that creates an unsafe, hostile, or intimidating environment is not tolerated.
Individuals must refrain from any behaviour, comment, gesture, or conduct directed toward an individual or group that is offensive, abusive, racist, sexist, degrading, humiliating, or malicious.
Harassment includes repeated or single incidents that reasonably cause distress, humiliation, or harm.
Parents, guardians, and spectators play a critical role in creating a positive sport environment and are expected to:
Abusive language, harassment, or disruptive conduct by parents or spectators may result in removal from the facility, suspension from events, or further disciplinary action.
All individuals associated with CBA are expected to use social media, text messaging, and electronic communication responsibly and respectfully.

Online conduct is subject to the same standards as in-person behaviour and may result in disciplinary action.

Failure to comply may result in disciplinary action.
All individuals have a responsibility to report conduct that may violate this Code of Conduct or any Safe Sport policy.
Concerns may be reported to CBA leadership or through designated reporting channels in alignment with Basketball Alberta and Canada Basketball guidelines.
Violations of this Code of Conduct may result in disciplinary action, including but not limited to:
Disciplinary decisions will be made at the discretion of CBA, in accordance with applicable policies and governing body guidelines.
All athletes, parents/guardians, coaches, volunteers, and staff are required to acknowledge and agree to this Code of Conduct as a condition of participation in Calgary Basketball Academy programs.
